original paint. Let dry for about a week, then sand it back flush with a super fine grit sanding block (available at your local auto paint supply store, it's about an inch by 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch of superfine grit sand). Then hand polish the area with fine rubbing compound. This, however, will leave a glass smooth spot everywhere you do this. Clean out any contaminants with a wax and grease remover and a toothpick first.
